This restaurant deserves special recognition. From the outside, it looks quite simple, and I almost didn’t expect anything extraordinary. I’m so glad I was wrong.

The food is absolutely exceptional—honestly one of the best meals I’ve had. Every dish was full of flavour, beautifully prepared and simply unforgettable. It completely exceeded my expectations.

The staff were also wonderful. Everyone was kind, welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be the décor. A refresh to the interior could make the atmosphere feel even more special and better reflect the incredible quality of the food.

Even so, don’t let the simple appearance fool you. This place is a hidden gem, and the food speaks for itself. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Galway.

Absolutely perfect for a short stay. Easy access to the beaches, nearby Tesco and of course Galway city centre. Adore the shampoo/body wash toiletries (wish I remembered the name!) and the linen was fresh and comfortable. No noise from the restaurant but a bit of street noise (stopped around 11pm) which can't be helped. Lovely teas and coffees on offer and I liked all the extra attention to detail. I'd stay again. Next time I'll try the restaurant!

We had a wonderful experience at Black Cat and can't recommend it enough.

We ordered two Black Cat seafood pastas, the shrimp and squid, fried calamari, a bottle of Chardonnay, and, on Caoimhe's recommendation, the crème brûlée: which was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to finish the meal.

The food was outstanding, with fresh seafood, generous portions, and excellent flavours throughout.

A special thank you to Anna and Caoimhe, who made our visit even more memorable. Anna kindly found us a table outside even though the restaurant was full, which we really appreciated. Both Anna and Caoimhe were warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely kind, providing exceptional service from start to finish.

Fantastic food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere!
